The Airmen's Mess at No.3 Manning Depot or 'Mess Hall.'

Photo courtesy of Mike Spack. Mr. Spack has graciously agreed that I might include quotes from his descriptions of the war. To visit his excellent site on his career in the RCAF, with 100 pages of text and over 150 photographs, please click here.

A staff of 30 manned the Mess Hall to provide food for the hungry airmen. The RCAF logo Per Ardua Ad Astra is displayed prominently on the front of the building.

Please click here to see more info on the logo.

The two images at left are courtesy of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum located in Brandon, Manitoba. It is the only museum in the world, dedicated solely to those who trained under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Click here to visit their informative site.

The two images are of canteens on the base. One occupied, and one empty with the RCAF ensign prominently displayed. Click here to read more about the RCAF ensign.
